A brief word on copyright
The rednblack.net museum does not claim copyright ownership on anything other than our own text and web design.
The museum does display photographs which are not in the public domain, believing that the use of low-resolution, previously published, images in the context that we do - for historical archival - amounts to fair use.
We will, however abide by requests from rights holders - where the right can be clearly demonstrated - to remove from display copyrighted material, or we will happily provide attribution for the works as this is itself a part of the history that we are building.
Such material, if removed, will remain in our digital archive for historical reference by future generations but will be removed from display.
In the case of photographs created before 1989 - copyright expires 50 years after the image's creation. Therefore any photograph taken before 1976 (at the time of writing) can be considered to be in the public domain. Those taken between 1976 and 1989 will enter the public domain over the course of the next 13 years.
In most cases it is not possible or practical to research and discover the copyright holder's information in order to seek permission to use material in the museum as the images have been obtained from sources several steps removed from their rights holder - like social media or other online archives.
The museum is a not for profit endeavour to create an archive of AFC Bournemouth's history. It does not seek to exploit commercially any of the works that are used and in no way infringes on rights holders ability to do so themselves.
We do ask for forgiveness, rather than permission, from rights holders - and their understanding.
